Trailer Brake Service IN Miami-Dade

Trailer Brake Repair

Electric and hydraulic surge brakes diagnosed and fixed: locked-up brakes, seized actuators, corroded lines, worn shoes and drums. If your trailer is pushing your truck through intersections, or dragging a locked wheel, that's us.

What Is trailer brakes?

Trailer brake service covers both systems used on trailers in Florida: electric drum brakes wired to a controller in the tow vehicle, and hydraulic surge brakes driven by an actuator on the tongue. The work includes shoes, drums, magnets, backing plates, wheel cylinders, brake lines, surge actuators, breakaway kits, and the wiring that ties it together. We diagnose locked wheels, no-brake conditions, and the classic surge-brake symptom of the trailer clunking and shoving at every stop.

Why Is trailer brakes Important?

Florida law requires working brakes on trailers over 3,000 pounds, and physics doesn't care what the law says: a loaded trailer without working brakes adds its whole weight to your stopping distance. Saltwater is brutal on brake internals, and surge actuators seize quietly, so plenty of trailers are rolling around with brakes that quit long ago and owners who never noticed. The day you find out is an emergency stop on US-1 with a boat behind you.

When Should You Consider trailer brakes?

Get brakes looked at if the trailer pushes you through stops, pulls to one side when braking, a wheel drags or smells hot, the breakaway cable or battery has never been tested, or the actuator is rusted and weeping fluid. If the trailer has sat unused for a season, assume the brakes need attention before the first loaded tow.

Had a blowout on the highway that damaged three of my four hubs. Found Dade Trailer Rescue online. Super responsive and got to me quickly.

Came out at night when we broke down on the stretch to the Keys and saved my family trip. Highly recommended.

Stranded on the side of the road on a Saturday. They were there in 30 minutes and replaced a complete hub in about 20. Price was fair.
