We diagnose with a tester rather than guessing, replace corroded sections with marine-grade wire and heat-shrink connections, and upgrade old incandescent fixtures to sealed LEDs that survive being dunked at the ramp.
Lights are the one trailer system other drivers depend on. No brake lights on a trailer means the car behind you finds out you're stopping when your load fills their windshield, and it's also the easiest ticket a trooper will ever write. On boat trailers, wiring lives underwater half its life; factory splices corrode green inside a season. A properly rewired trailer with sealed LEDs and soldered, heat-shrunk connections stays fixed instead of failing again next month.
Call when any light is dead or flickering, when the lights work until you hit the brakes (the classic bad-ground symptom), when turn signals blink fast on the truck, or when the connector at the hitch is green with corrosion. If you're still running incandescent lights on a boat trailer, switching to sealed LEDs before they strand you is the cheap version of this repair.
